Yeah, that's my leash back there. I can take it off.

Bella is an 8 year old Black Lab.

March 24, 2005

Its hard to get a one-year old to pose just right.

Bibi, a French Bulldog, is very frisky and friendly. And, rumor has it, 2% cow.

March 21, 2005

These dogs were, moments ago, trying to talk me into giving them treats.

Treats that belonged to Cassady! These chow hounds, Blue and Pablo, are Lakeland Terriers.

March 20, 2005

There is only the ball and chasing and catching the ball.

Jonathan is a 4 year old Yellow Lab who lives to chase a tennis ball.

March 19, 2005

Leo gets a bit cranky and growls when he has to stand around and wait.

This 13 year old Smooth Collie probably has a bit of arthritis, which might explain his not wanting to stand around and gab.

March 16, 2005

Arrow could barely sit still for this portrait.

Perhaps it was the treats for Cassady hidden in my pocket. And, like many of the dogs walking the path today, wanted some. Arrow is a butterscotch Standard Poodle.

March 15, 2005

Hey, move back just a bit more while I'm getting my picture taken.

Tula is a boxer, 13 years old, and a cancer survivor. See that black band on her left front leg? Radiation treatment for cancer caused that.

March 12, 2005

Someone old, someone new.

In the left-most photo that's Morgan, on the left, and Luna, a Wheaten Terrier, on the right. You will likely recognize Cassady in the three right-most photos.

Some people say there is no such thing as too many Cassady pictures. Other people have been overheard to say that you can't have too many Cassady pictures. Others claim that eventually, possibly, at some point in the future, there will be enough pictures. Well, they are all welcome to their opinions. For me there are not yet enough Cassady pictures.

March 10, 2005

This is the real Henry.

By chance Henry and his pal, Morgan, came by the next day. So now we know that NOT-Henry is named Morgan.

March 08, 2005

This is NOT-Henry.

That's because I can't remember his actual name. Henry is his pal, his other non-human companion during walks around Fresh Pond. Henry is half Black Labrador and half Border Collie. NOT-Henry is a Golden Retriever. He is very playful. One of these days his right name will appear here. Maybe I'll remember it while this is being written. Not yet...

March 07, 2005

Somebodies are waiting for a treat.

Rodney & Franklin, French Bulldogs, visit Fresh Pond about once a week.

March 06, 2005

Some dogs just know when good behavior means a treat.

And in this case, Elsie, a White Labrador Retriever, was rewarded with a piece of Cassady's daily hot dog (just kidding--not actually made from dogs) treat.

A dog who loves to chase, catch and eat sticks.

Max is an Australian Cattle Dog.

March 04, 2005

These Bernaise Sauce dogs are regular visitors to Fresh Pond.

Some people insist they are Bernese Mountain Dogs. However, word on the path is that they can actually be taught to make a mean Bernaise Sauce.

March 03, 2005

Heschy is a very shy (with people) 2-year old Sheltie.

Cassady is sometimes mistaken for a Sheltie. Heschy and Cassady will both herd stragglers--while being adorable.

March 01, 2005

The three pupketeers pose for a picture.

This is what dogs will do when they know specific behavior will result in treat. And they each got one moments after these pictures were taken. That guy on the right looks like he's sleeping with his eyes shut.
