Kiowa is a dog who can absorb infinite backrubs.

And from this picture you can see that he likes the taste of his own nose!

A dog SO long you need two pictures to see the whole thing...

This dog, although a lot smaller, was dressed just like Cassady.

Lilly is very shy.

She is half Rat Terrier and half Chihuahua

One of two very rambunctious Bulldogs...

Only a mother who was a Bulldog could love a Bulldog. Learn more about Bulldogs here.

This dog fought me for a tree!

Let me explain that. Keeway is the name of this Black Labrador. He's no longer a puppy but has all the pep and energy of a puppy and the strength of an adult. In this picture he's digging his green tennis ball out of the snow--which he conveniently buries. Pick up a stick and he wants to wrestle you for it. And that's what happened, sort of. It was a branch from a tree that had fallen onto the path. And, as it my want, it had to be tossed off to the side. Except that Keeway, who also has a home in Vermont, saw me do this and charged and grabbed the branch. We spent 15 minutes fighting over it as he slowly broke it into a whole bunch of about foot long pieces. And that's the story of the dog who tears trees apart.

Fresh Pond's long haired Dachshund family out for a stroll.

Its hard to get a good picture of the three of them, daddy, mommy and baby, because they are constantly in motion. Not unlike a boiling nest of ants--except there are only three of them.

Coda plus his shadow is twice as big as just Coda.

And he needs that extra size to help him make other dogs believe he's much bigger than he really is. He's assertive, and challenges other dogs for leadership, but he's not vicious or mean even. Just a dog who wants to let other dogs know he's... top dog.

Oh, look at my new red sweater!

This is Ruffus, Mikey (Michael when he's a bad dog), and Cisco.

Somebody spilled ink at Fresh Pond today.

Or that could be a cow.

Would you say that Iris is the Pond's prettiest Poodle?

Cassady having a bite to drink after a long day at Fresh Pond.

Long because we walked half way around, then visited Laundro Mutt, a self-service dog wash and dog lounge, just across the street from Fresh Pond to learn about their services, then on to Bread & Circus (now called something else...) for food shopping. Then home, on the way to which we meet Scout.

Can you image... TWO Leonbergers at Fresh Pond on the same day!

Cassady, on the left, is female and about 50 pounds. Shadow, on the right, is female and about 100 pounds, or less. They both have the black tip on the tail, similar ear fur, the black face (although Cassady, at 15, is turning white), and similar dispositions and engaging faces. More information about Leonbergers can be found here.

These dogs are not named Butterscotch and Licorice.

Licorice and Butterscotch were my names for the two of them. Scooter's color is apricot, the owner informed me, but added that butterscotch was closer to the dog's actual color.

They are named Scooter and Oliver, a Poodle and Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel and Poodle), respectively.

What's with the tongue already?

Here's a picture of tedy bear bruschi.
